Hexagons, Tube Quilting, and Coasters + a question
#1
I made these hexagon placemats, tube block hot pads and criss cross coasters all from patterns I've found here.
I absolutely fell in love with the tube quilting method and would like to make a twin size quilt but I'm a little worried about doing something that large because of the bias edges. It wasn't a problem with the hot pads as it was just one block with binding but I want to put the blocks together without sashing in between.
Some of you here say to starch so my question is do you use spray starch or liquid. When do you starch? Could I make the tube and then spray starch heavily before cutting the blocks?
I know that someone here will be able to help me.

Great job on all that you did!!
I use spray starch and I spray every step of the way :-D
I spray & iron before cutting...
I press the seams and then I spray them again when I press them to one side etc. etc. etc.
The stiffer the better my seams come out!!!!!

For the coasters, click on search above and type in Criss Cross Coasters. They are so simple to do.
The hot pads are tube quilting blocks and you can type Tube Quilting into the search above.
Hope this helps. All were fairly simple to do.
