...Old Gum Boot
is finished!
I had posted a pic of it before I found the outside sash - I thought the top was done until I found the sashing material  (found at Joanns on sale and is Kaufman!)
Anyway, I did the quilting on this on the Singer 1948 15-90 we found on the way home from Arkansas a few weeks ago... we also found an old Singer walking foot in an 'antique' store for a whole $5.00 (paid $80 for the 15-80 in cabinet with bench, book, attachments etc in fantastic condition)...
oh well, back to the quilt (I do get passionate about my old Singer machines tho  )
This is probably the wildest quilt I've made - altho it might be a tossup with the Space Plasma

it's 80x80...
I started out just stitching in the ditch but decided that wasn't enough since I used a cotton batt... so went back and meandered...
I used machine quilting Coats and Clark multi-color... the colors kinda blend right in and not glaring...

here's a closeup of the fabrics and some of the stitching... not the world's greatest but... hey it's my quilt and I say it's "OK"... :D
I started collecting the peppers and then found the 'Mexican" one, and then the "fire".. and the quilt kind of went from there...
I had seen the braid at the quilt shop where I found the Mexican fabric and then somebody posted a table runner here and that reminded me...
There is no set pattern except for how to make the braids, the rest is made up as I went...
