Hug Quilt from my Boom swappers
#1
Hello everyone,
For anyone who may not have followed the story it goes like this:
These blocks were all made by Boomerang 1, 2 & 3 swappers and sent to me without my knowledge as a thank you and as a way of saying "we care"-essentially a hug from each of them from miles away . These blocks mean the world to me and I am thrilled to be able to say that they are now together and quilted. All I have to do is bind it. I found the fabric that I used for the sashing strips and just loved it as I felt it would help pull all of the blocks together since it had black, orange and yellow in it. The sashing fabric is directional though so I had to be meticulous in my cutting so it did not look wonky. (This was done some time ago before I started having peripheral vision issues)
I love love this quilt and between the cuddle minkee in it and the blocks filled with love it is such a special, warm and loving quilt for me.
So to all of you fabulous, wonderful and loving ladies who have sent me a block I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I see my new specialist on the 25th so hopefully there will be answers to the vision loss issues I am now dealing with and the constant migraines 24/7/365. The shunt in my spine is working as well as it should be so they have to figure out where this issue is coming from now!
The top was quilted by rosemaynes on the board here and she did a phenomenal job! Every block has the makers name quilted on it.
This truly was a labor of love in so many ways and will be one of my greatest treasures and memories for many many years.
PS It has been quilted for probably 4 months or better now..I am just so behind!!
Hugs
April
