Label for "mixed heritage" quilts
#1
Like Eddie, I have a number of vintage quilt tops which I got at auction or from private sellers. I love these old quilt tops and enjoy giving them new life as a quilt. ......
I probably should ask Eddie for his advice on labeling a hybrid quilt, that is, someone else's vintage quilt top (unknown) which I complete, sometimes incorporating some fixes, appliques, batting, backing, binding and quilting. Any suggestions how to label these quilts? Would appreciate all suggestions with thanks!

I have quilted tops I found at sales etc. When I do the label I write "Pieced by unknown quilter, quilted by me" the date, etc. You can add details if you like but if the person is unknown it doesn't matter, does it??
By the way, love your quilts :D:D:D

It's wonderful that you want to document them. Put as much as you can. They will be loved no matter what their heritage. Think of them as a mixed breed puppy. They are still cute and loveable.
