Lady of the Lake
I just realized I never posted this quilt I finished in January 2019. It only took 3 years to complete, ha, ha. I’d work on it for awhile, put it down, do something else, then pick it up again. You know how that goes. It is 66x 89”, machine sewn and hand quilted. Quilters dream wool used (love it). Also used Superior Thread Treasure quilting thread (#30). This is my first really serious hand quilting project and I loved it. Used round hoop on stand (Hindenburg). Stand sits under your legs so I did stitch in my recliner. I used quarter taped to my underhand thumb and two thimbles on my middle finger and thumb on my top hand. I could not get the hang of smaller needles so I used John James #9 needles. Worked for me. I saw the quilting pattern on Pinterest, played with it, put it on the heavy clear vinyl, and carefully cut around it. I put the pattern on the fabric with a blue water removable thin line marker as I went along and would wet about 3-4 at a time to remove markings. This would shrink up the fabric that would stretch a little as I hand quilted.

That is such a beautiful quilt. I am soooo in awe of those who can hand quilt so beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing it with us & all your detailed information of your supplies & techniques. You have a quilt that you should treasure all the days of your life.
