A Lap Quilt for my Oldest DGD
I made this little quilt for my granddaughter after I made a quilt for her new baby brother (in my avatar). She picked out the pattern from a box of baby quilts by Jenny Wilding Cardon called "Sad Days, Hipppie Days". It was supposed to be square, but I lengthened it so it would cover her toes. She takes it to all her sleep-overs. Finished size is about 44 x 56. I also made a pillowcase to match, but didn't get a picture of it.
It was my first time to work with batiks, and the first time I did any machine applique, that is, satin stitch around and on the faces. I loved working with the batiks! I used some of the decorative stitches on my machine for quilting.

And, my darling Emily with her quilt.
