The Lightning Bolt quilt
Last year I started making quilts for Quilts for Kids. On their website, they say that they need quilts for older boys. I thought about it and decided to make a quilt out of one big, bold block. While thinking about what pattern would appeal to older boys, this design popped into my head. It's a little bit like a superhero emblem, but not enough that a truly older boy would feel that it is too childish. (I hope.)
The sides are straight, the curve in the left border is due to the way I have it hanging. You'll see a mis-matched point. There were several originally - I ripped and stitched until it was the best I could get it.
I don't usually post photos until I get them quilted, but I'm so happy with this, I couldn't wait.
