Memory quilt

This is a quilt I recently completed - a memory quilt, done at the request of a friend of a friend.
The front ( squares and strips) is a combination of pieces of the person's shirts, a star design made from his shirts, and a rainbow spectrum border. The stars and the rainbow were significant symbols to this person.
The back ("Zero") was special to this person and his family as well. I had a bit of difficulty with the shiny silver fabric for the letters and star, and I was also concerned about how that part would wash. Post quilting wash - all good!
The quilting which you may not be able to see, was done in a "heart-within-a-heart" design that was chosen by the family.
The design was a collaboration between myself and the person who asked me to make this quilt. She is very pleased with how it turned out and has plans for who she is gifting it to.
And as with all my quilt pictures, the "obligatory" husband hands and feet are present! LOL!
