Moved some things around
#1
Ever since I set up my sewing room, I've had to share it with a futton. Yesterday I had DH and DSS move it to the basement and bring up a table I had down there. I raised the table, so I could use it for cutting. No more dragging everything out to the kitchen table to cut. And best of all no money spent.

The futon in my sewing room is a dumping ground also. However, I keep it there because it gives me a comfortable place to sit and browse books, unsew, calculate design and yardage, etc. where I can rest my back, I'll pile things on the back of the futon so I can stretch out, elevating my legs too. I've even been known to take a little nap there. My cutting table is in the center of the room, and I have to walk circles around it to get to the other side. I've thought about getting rid of the futon so I would have more stash room, but I'd still have to walk around the cutting table. The best thing about keeping it is that there is a place for company to sit. Sometimes the DD, husband or girl friend will come sit with me, or the parent of one of my 4-H students. For now, the futon stays, and I will continue to admire people like you who have the energy to reorganize, and make your work space more efficient.

I have a table similar to that in my sewing room and it is wonderful! I have a 3x4 ironing "board" on it part of the time and use it for pinning quilts and all sorts of things. It was one of the best additions to my room. I also have a cutting table on the other side of the room.
