My first Log Cabin blocks
My significant other asked that I create a quilt for him from some of his old jeans. So I had to find a simple pattern that man enough and that I could use denim. Two of my friends (one male the other female) suggested Log Cabin and Yellow Brick Road, as my boyfriend is a brick mason. So I thought I would make the center out of Log Cabin and surround them with Yellow Brick Road. For a first attempt, I have to admit I am proud of how they turned out; they are not near the quality I have seen in other quilts here. But I would love any suggestions, tips, or pointers the "pros" are willing to offer someone like me. Thanks for looking.

Sewing with denim is challenging. Use larger seams and off set the seams (where the blocks meet)as much as possible. Sew your rows together into sections and then sew the sections together to avoid handling all the bulk at once. Denim tops get heavy fast. Your blocks look great!
