A new top...

Haven't sewn a garment in a looooong time. And motherhood has taken it's toll on my wardrobe. Jeans & t-shirts being the uniform of choice.
I needed something that I could use to "dress-up" jeans or wear with pants when I go on a date with HandyMan (DH).
So I made this. Learned gathering and did some seam finishes and worked with bias tape that I made from the fabric so it matched perfectly, instead of "sorta".

Looks fantastic to me.
But I've got to tell you. I didn't read all the way through your post, just glanced, saw that you made something and scrolled down to the pix so that I could hurry and see it. Being a person that never wears jeans, only dresses, I though, "WOW, that's one short dress. I hope she doesn't drop anything that she'll have to pick up." Then I went back and read the entire thing and realized it was a top. LOLLOLLOL

I did the ruffly version without the ruffles. Not a big fan of froo-froo and fluff...
And thanks to everyone for your comments :)
