Oldest UFO

I am trying to post a picture for the very first time following Steve's directions. This is Ebby my one year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel relaxing on my oldest UFO that I finished just lately. I started this quilt in 1970 to use up some scraps that were already beginning to accumulate from my high school sewing projects. I sewed a few blocks then and put all of them in an old shoe box. In 1977, I took my first quilting course at the local night school program and finished a few more blocks. Finally last winter, I got the box out once more and stitched up the remainder. I initially had thought about throwing all those bits out as I sew a lot more accurately now but when I looked at the fabrics, I just couldn't part with it. There were pieces from my 4-H blouse, my mom's aprons, family home porch curtains and little sister's Sunday School dress. Please post your oldest UFO's picture and tell us your story. (Thank you Steve, your directions worked!)

So many memories...I wouldn't have thrown them out either And what the heck with the accuracy, it shows that you were a beginner once and how far you've come since - an achievement!!! And your quilt turned out beautiful, I love it!!! Actually it gave me an idea for one of my next ones Thanks for sharing. Oh yes, and your fur-baby is so cute too!!!

Very nice. I have a 30+ year old UFO I that I hope to take to the LAQ next week. Like you, I wasn't sure about it--I'm not crazy about it now, but it seems a shame not to honor that younger me by having it finished. Your experience has strengthened that idea--thanks.
