One Block Wonder top finished and a Hatchet pattern quilt for my son
The first picture is of my son under the quilt he "Claimed". While I was working on this quilt he said, 'oh mom I want that one'. So of course when it was finished I gave it to him. It is backed with flannel that I bought from Connecting Threads. This flannel is SOOOOO nice! I will be buying more flannel from them in the future. There is warm and natural batting as well. Makes for a nice toasty quilt My son has always said he loves my quilts but has never layed claim to one. (He is my biggest fan) I am hoping that he will drag this one around for a very long time! I used a Hatchet Template for this quilt.
The second picture is of my One Block Wonder. The outside border is the the original material. I have not quilted it yet, this is just the top. My original plan was to hang this one in our house, because I knew it was going to bright, pretty and happy. However, lol my niece saw this picture on Facebook and automatically called 'dibs' on it lol. So, I guess I will eventually give this one to her. She is like the daugther I will never have and it is hard to say no to her. lol I am thinking about backing it with flannel as well. I tell ya, I never thought I would like having flannels for backs, but I am really liking the feel and weight of them.
Thanks for looking!

I love them both. Your boy sure looks happy with his. I love that you've bordered the OBW with the original fabric. I'm always amazed at the different blocks that can be made from any given piece of fabric. Fantastic.
