One of my WIPs - first attempt at FMQ
#1
I started this a few years ago and pick it up every now and then in between other projects. The pattern called for raw edge applique, but I did traditional hand applique and finally finished a few weeks ago.
I started this as a project to teach myself free-motion quilting and this is what I've done so far. It will probably be Christmas 2012 until I can hang it since I have Christmas quilts to make for gifts before I can finish this one.
The color of the center poinsettia is too light, I think, so may try another new technique, fabric painting, to color it.
Thanks for checking them out!

I am looking forward to the end of it - I'm usually a "start something, power through until it's done, then move on to something else" type quilter, but this has been one of the most protracted projects ever!
