this quilt has been 3 years in the making. i made the quilt top about 3 years ago and i finally had some spare time to actually do some of my own projects.
i just did SITD along the extremely thin sections to enhance the illusion.
then i did an all over geometric quilt pattern in the dark brown triangles.

That is a really striking piece of art you have created. I love the simplicity of it--you let the illusion speak for itself.
How big is it? And how did you finish it around the edges---I do not see binding.....?

i put on a 1/4 inch binding.
i wanted the points of the illusion to be as close to the quilt edge as possible and the best i could do was a 1/4.
i've never been able to do a 1/8 binding without it rolling and making the quilt edge ruffle.
