Playing with Jacks masculine controlled scrappy OSU
First of three quilts ready to gift! Yay! I am making an Ohio State lap quilt for each of our 3 adult sons...didn't want the quilt to scream OSU...this is Bonnie Hunter's free pattern, Playing with Jacks. I am trying to get more adventurous with FMQ...wanted to try curved crosshatching, but couldn't find the proper size lid to use as a template! I know there are rulers but they are pricey, and I prefer to spend my retirement sewing budget on fabric!
Colors are more accurate in the closeup pic...Will surprise my son with this tomorrow!

That's nice. You can make a set of curved templates for yourself with either template plastic, heavy cardstock or poster board. Make a bunch of different sizes. I save all the little templates I make for myself. They come in handy.

This is gorgeous! I have made some of my templates with freezer paper. Just press however many sheets together draw your template then cut it out. Freezer paper is cheap. If you don't like your template then just cut something else out of it. The rolls come in 150'x18". That can make a lot of templates. money saved!!
