QOV top finished
Our guild is trying to make 30 quilts for WWII vets in a local nuring home by Oct. or Nov. Already 3 have passed on so the lady who is heading up the project feels a need to get this project moving. She is planning on quilting this top for me. She has a quilting business. Sadly last week she found she has CA & will start chemo soon.
This pattern is called Picnic in the Park and I found it in McCall's Vintage Quilts Spring 2014. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the one I wanted to do. My DH was so sweet- we were in the mountains for the weekend & all it did was rain. I found the magazine at the store & we drove to my favorite LQS in Murphy, NC. They have a nice sofa for non-quilters to chill out & I had fun picking out the fabric.
I did have to add the outer border to bring it up to size for QOV.
Thanks for looking.

If your friend is not up to quilting this great quilt for the veterans, might there be a long arm quilter in the area who'd be willing to donate their time to do it?
