Our small guild decided to make a quilt for the Ronald McDonald house in Rochester--home of the Mayo Clinic. We are hoping this will be given to a young boy. We brought our strips in darks and lights; one gal added the pattern; others donated foundation fabric; we had cutters, sewers, trimmers, and pressers. After it was pieced I took it home to make the sandwich; several ladies tied; another made the binding and yet another the label. This was our first group effort and we are looking forward to next year's day of fun!

Why stop there? Our guild makes charity quilts for Quilts of Valor. We give them to our local VA hospital. We also do heart pillows for breast cancer patients (both male and female), bibs and walker caddies. There is also the one million pillowcase challenge. For our quilt show (every other year), we each donate at least one quilt for our auction charity.
Not only are these donations tax deductible, but they make you FEEL SO GOOD!

What a beautiful quilt and so easy with all those busy hands. One day....imagine what you could do, once a week. I just came back from a retreat where we were all given 1/2 yd for a quilt challenge, and we will make a quilt for the foster children in Burley Idaho. There are so many young people that would love to have something warm to wrap up in. Keep up the good work. It is such a warm feeling to know that someone is going to love your hard work.
