Racing To The Finish Line
I am SOOOO excited to be able to show you Jonathan’s finished quilt ! He put the final stitches in the binding tonight ! We did have to wash it since he used 505 to spray baste and we had to get the cat hair off it as well, since the kitties have been loving laying on it when he was trying to quilt it ! I am so proud of all the hard work he put into this quilt, and I can not wait to see it hanging at the fair !
He did stitch in the ditch around all the geese and colored stripes.
And did some stippling around the embroidered blocks since they were too large to leave un-quilted.
From start to finish this quilt took him almost exactly 2 months, from May to July. He has done all the work on this himself, with alot of suggestion and guidance from me, as I sat there trying SOOOO hard not to jump in and ” do it the proper way ( MY way ! ) “.
I restrained myself though, as hard as it was some times. I pushed him, to keep him on schedule, and I am sure he is glad to be done hearing ” you know playing your XBox is not going to get your quilt done in time for the fair”.
Now he can relax and enjoy his X-Box and summer camp. Entries have to be brought to the fairgrounds on the 9th, so they can be judged prior to the fair opening on the 19th.

We will do the last minute loose thread clipping and lint rolling before then, probably more than once !

that is a delightful quilt! Whether of not it wins, it should generate lots of excitement. Our fair's turn in date is the 6th. I am so not looking forward to dealing with the cat hair.
