RiRi's Happy Quilt additions-we went scrap happy
#1
I previously posted the quilt I made my DGD that she chose the fabric and all the design for plus LA the last row. I had planned to make her a matching pillow case from the scraps and we got a little carried away. I taught her to use the sewing machine a little by having her sew the seams on the pillow case. I then stayed up late one night making a decorative pillow for her from smaller scraps. She loved that and then asked if I could make a matching mug rug. Now we were into really small scraps. She also learned to hand sew by sewing the binding on the back of the mug rug. It was a great experience and I can honestly say no fabric was wasted. She enjoyed the response from her quilt so much that she asked me to post the entire collection. So, here it is. She just left to go home and my heart is heavy.

She may be gone physically, but the bond that you established with her, will be with you always. The quilt is the most wonderful gift that you and she have given to each other. That is priceless. And what a beautiful granddaughter you have. My heart would be sad also with her leaving.
