Here is my first FMQ. It's a table runner and hot pad made from a charm pack that I didn't care for. I made it to donate, decided it wasn't good enough, so I donated something else and now I have a homeless table runner.
It's Moda Oasis with the blocks cut in half, sewn end to end, then the strips sewn together offset. The border is a soft coral as are the roses. They photographed much brighter. I used a light poly batting. I tried a firmer one I used to use for placemats, but it seemed too thin. Now I wish I'd used it. The hot pad has Insulate. Next one will have 60 degree ends, not 90, but I do like them angled. BTW, it does lay flat on a table.
I quilted it exactly as I wanted it - not heavily quilted. I found loops easier to do than stippling that doesn't cross. All I can say is that I can only get better.
