Stand for "thread cone" or vice versa

EXCELLENT IDEA!!! I just told DH that he HAS to make me one. I'm gonna have him add a L shaped piece to the botton for spools of thread that don't feed well from the top (like the spool on your sewing machine, I don't remember the terms for winding the spools). But why do you need it to be taller? It looks like it would work perfectly. am I missing something?
