I'm getting close to finishing one up too. It is so hard to do the last few step to complete it. Especially when it is a big one like this. But it will be so worth it when it is done. Yours is lovely, original, and well designed. It is a quilt to be proud of and show off with pride whenever you can. Great work!

I am always seeing posts about how to get started building a stash....I always want to scream...make sure you included solids in your purchases. So easy to pick up prints, prints, and more prints. But I always end up having to purchase more solids...

I love that! Your choice of colors and the overall design gives this quilt a very modern feel.
It looks like you're using a quilt as you go technique that doesn't have visible joins, which I like better than the way I know to do it. Could you describe your technique?

Someone said they didn't like the thick seams this created, but I always topstitch on those long seams anyway just to make sure it is secure.
I am happy with being able to quilt using this technique, but it is still a long process.

You are right in that the white fabric really helps make this quilt stand out. Both sides are wonderful (even though you did not have a pattern) and look very modern which seems to be very "in" now. I like it a lot! What a great job you did on it. I hope you will use it or gift it because it would be a shame to have it sit in a closet. Oh and I love the colors and fabrics you used. Were they all from your stash?
other quilts/projects.
