Swoon blocks

Love this block. Could you do a tutorial on it?
Seems like swoon blocks are all the rage right now. At our quilt guild we were given a "President's Challenge". Each of us was to bring a yard of fabric in a brown paper bag. The bags were exchanged. From the yard of fabric I received, I am to make a 40" x 40" square, of course adding some of my own fabric. At our Christmas party/meeting in Dec. we will bring back our completed squares and give them back to the person who supplied the fabric. Hidden in the bag I received, I found a yummy yard of floral fabric from the Moda "Bliss" line. I just happened to have a layer cake from the same line of fabric.
So, I decided to try my hand at making a swoon block. The first one I made only measured 16.6". I could have made 3 more, added some sashing to come up with a 40 x 40 block. But I decided to make one BIG swoon block.
Here are my 2 blocks:

I am now working on the 16" blocks as well as the original Swoon which is a 24" finished block. I have liked doing both of them. For the small sized block there is a tutorial online that was previously posted. For the original authentic Swoon, got to thimbleberries.com. I made both quilts with Moda Vintage Modern. These patterns have a lot of pieces and HSTs. Beautiful blocks. Many pictures of Swoons online.

Close! The only requirements were to make a 40"x40" block or quilt top using the fabric in the brown bag. I chose to make the swoon block.
