Thread Cabinet

He is certainly a keeper, what a lovely cabinet.
It is just so satisfying seeing all of those beautiful colors of thread.......(almost as good as chocolate---remember I said almost..... )

He really did do a wonderful job. He's only home for 2 days then back on the road. So it took him longer than he wanted it to, but he'd love to retire and make sewing room furniture all the time. I thought of putting doors on it, but wasn't sure. He could make doors with glass inserts so the thread still shows through. Hmmm

Amy, we would have been much closer back in May. I could have placed my order and picked it up, lol. I am really serious, however about placing an order. Or perhaps he would be willing to sell the instructions on "how" to make it? I have been looking for something exactly like this and we have very few in our family with any kind of woodworking skills. Hope you are getting settled in your new home.

Love the cabinet!! Your hubby did a great job!! Nice craftsmanship.
One question... how tall is it? Can you see the thread in the back of the top drawer? If you can't, I wonder if it would be better to put one shelf on the top, thread drawers in the middle, and a shelf on the bottom (for heavier items for stability and, to keep the thread above the floor)? I make this suggestion ONLY because you're talking about making these for other sewers and want to appeal to a large group.
