traFUNto!
I had some dresdens left over from work I did last fall, and came up with this design to use them. I had taken an online class from Patsy Thompson that included some trapunto techniques. So, I decided to try them out on this quilt. The dresdens have one extra layer of 80/20 batting, and the yellow centers have 2 extra layers. I used my DSM for the decorative stuff on the dresdens, then my LA to finish the quilting. The ghost dresdens in the center of the quilt have one extra layer of high-loft polyester batting. I also referred to the website of our member, Geta She has some great examples and tips for trapunto.
This quilt was lots of fun, until I got to the binding. I just couldn't find anything in my stash that seemed to work. I ended up with a flanged binding, but I'm not ecstatic about it.
The backing came from Marshall Dry Goods. It's grey circles on white, and I really like the print, but at first I thought it was kind of wimpy fabric. But I really like the way it feels after the quilt was all finished.
Anyway, thanks for looking; hope everyone has a great day!
