trying something new
I just got the mini twister ruler and had to try it out. Found out I have to be really careful with the fabric I choose. Thought I had a good contrast but the twisters don't show up well. Next time I will use fabric with little to no pattern and very contrasting colors.
I also wanted to try out my new dresden plate ruler, now I will have to decide what the background should be and the center circle.

You are correct about the Twister ruler -- too much work not to have the pinwheels show up. I really love your fabric choices though, they are totally out of my box. The dresden place is beautiful!

I cut the squares for a twister quilt today, hope mine have enough contrast - I am using prints from the Tonga Pink Lemonade line and alternated the brights with one of the lighter yellow prints.
I also figured out it would be better to use an odd number of squares and rows so that I could have a bright square in each corner.
