In The Valley Quilt

This quilt is for a granddaughter. I've had the fabric panel for several years and just could not decide how to use it. Then inspiration hit. The panel has the 23rd Psalm printed on it. I used some metallic thread to highlight the water, but it does not show up in the photo.
I also did free motion feathers on two of the borders. I don't think they are bad for first effort. And they were done on a Viking D1, not a long arm. I did draw the design onto the fabric with chalk, so I had something to follow. But, I lost sight of the line many times.

Well, I just decided to do it. My stitches are definitely not even. This is where I would like to have a Bernina with the stitch regulator. Viking does not have that feature.
You should try it some time. If you draw your feathers, it is easier.

Thank you. Her mother and I made a quilt with photos on it for her high school graduation, but she wanted a quilt done just by me. So this is it. I am proud of her. She is in graduate school and will be a speech pathologist.
