I don't think I'd make one because of the amt of time and patience it takes but I think it's great that you took the challenge.
Where did you buy the fabric with the spools of thread on it? That's perfect for curtains for my seewing room.

I saw this basket technique demonstrated on TV...was it Fons and Porter? I loved the look of the project and have been wanting to try it. I found a book on Amazon, "It's a Wrap: Sewing Fabric Purses, Baskets, And Bowls" by Susan Breier. I haven't ordered it yet...it is on my wish list. I see there are some instructions on various websites if you Google. I didn't know there was a thread here on the Quilting Board about this type of project. I'll have to do a search and see what you all talked about previously. In addition to baskets I'd like to learn to make them sized for casserole carriers ...thought this would make a nice gift.

This is the pattern I bought. It is called a bali bag. Made with moda fabrics in a jelly roll called bali pops.
