    Yeah this is why I have been looking at a LOT of them, because I am afraid that will happen to me. I think the trick is that you don't want the squares that are whole squares to be a dominant fabric, it needs to be lighter or softer looking that the rail fence blocks, and I think having your darkest fabric in the middle of the rail fence seems to work the best. Most of the ones that I have seen that blended had white or a light color in the middle of the rail fence and then their plain block fabric was too dominant so my eye was drawn only to that.

    This is an awesome quilt you sure did get the colors right to show off the penguins. I just found this pattern a couple of days ago and have put it on my to do list.

    That is one reason why I did not make one before I did the one I posted last week. The only ones I had seen blended into each block too much then I saw one that et the blocks off like this one and I really liked it. I really like the way mine came out and will make more for sure.

    Love this quilt. My 29yr old son loves penguins also I may have to make him one with penguin fabric as wel.
