UFO Challenge for 2021
#481
I am getting anxious for my quilting group's retreat the first weekend of June. We Zoom regularly and they all laughed today when I told them I was bringing 6 quilts to layer.(We will have space to layer on tables! Yeah!) Four quilt tops are UFOs, so I will be doing my best to catch up on my promise of one per month. I probably won't be quilting them during the retreat. I can't carry my good machine for quilting up and down the stairs at home. My feather weight and I will be doing some work on other projects. Then when I return home, I can settle in to quilting and then binding! Hoping for two in June, July and August. We will see

So...May has been busier than April was! On May 3 I left for our "International Ride". I rode 1706 miles in 7 days without ever leaving Texas. We rode to towns in Texas that have the same names as international cities & countries. We rode to Turkey, Canadian (in the Panhandle, north of I-40), Scotland, Dublin, Italy, New York, Athens, Palestine, & Paris. It was a great week of steady riding, with several days over 300 miles. I'm lack just over 3000 miles getting my 100,000 mile patch from Harley-Davidson! I signed up for the mileage group in 2008, so it's taken me a while. Then my grandson graduated with his Associate's Degree on May 15 & from high school on May 24. Seems backward to me, but... So all this explains my extended absence from the board. I have gone back & counted 8 UFOs for April, and 5 for May. I apologize for falling down on my self-appointed task of keeping count of the group UFO completions.
On May 22, K & I made the back for my Solstice fabric quilt & got it sandwiched. We got to quilt it yesterday & finished it today! Tomorrow we will trim & bind it. I'll have it on my bed in time for the summer Solstice! I'm very excited to have it so close to completion. So, I'll have a UFO for June.

Well done, Conchalea. Solstice by solstice is a terrific accomplishment. Please post a photo when you get a moment.I would love to see your finish and I bet others will too! I have no finishes for May but should have a couple for June.

One for May!
I was able to finish stitching down the binding last night at 9:30, it was in the wash this morning and its dry so was able to take a picture this afternoon. After it came out of the drier I noticed that there was a spot on the yellow that I think came from the singer 127 that I quilted it on. I will treat it and give it another wash. I think this is my second oldest at 8 1/2 years in the waiting. On to the next UFO!
