alton brown makes the yummiest things! i have varied off of this recipe but try and follow the 'basic' part. i use roasted turkey that i can instead of chicken, im sure roast beef would work fantastic just use beef boullion and beef seasonings rather than the sage, etc. ive also noticed alot of sage will green the gravy so i have backed off on that. since i am using 'canned' meat, it only takes about 20 mins to prep. the biscuits come together in a SNAP with the food processor.
fast, easy, and back to sewing!

I do this, too, but I'm super lazy so I use canned biscuits. Very quick and everyone likes it. I also do it with browned hamburger and all the leftover veggies in the fridge. I add a can of veggie soup to glue it together and top with biscuits.

I think it would also be good if you used the pie crust in the box (pillsbury) and roll it out to fit the top of the pan. No gooey biscuits to contend with if you are having trouble making them. At any rate, this sounds yummy and will have to try it to. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I make a biscuit batter using: 2 cups of Bisquick, 1 egg, 1 cup milk, 4 Tablesspoons of melted butter and pour over the meat-veggie mixture. Sometimes I add some shredded cheddar cheese and garlic powder. This will bake all the way through and no more soggy toppings! enjoy
