Gastro Obscura
Gastro Obscura is a sister site to Atlas Obscura, an online place that I like to go explore from time to time. GO is all about weird facts about food and restaurants, pubs, etc...anything foodie related. I realize that this isn't a recipe, but I thought it would still be the best place to post this.
Here's an interesting fact that I learned on GO...did you know that sometimes, an Irish Pub was also the town undertaker? Why? Well...think about it. They had plenty of cold storage available for the body, a nice little meeting place for a wake and plenty of booze to help lessen the load of grief.
Do you know where the world's largest stove is located? GO does.
Looking for a, "strictly cookbooks," book store? GO has a list of several.
Did you know that you can visit Ben and Jerry's Flavor Graveyard? (It's in Vermont)
It's a fun site: https://www.atlasobscura.com/gastro

GO just posted an article about where you can find interesting food products that are offered by the various native American tribes. Some of the items offered are: Artisan olive oil, grains, smoked salmon, wild rice, unique jams and jellies, specialty beans, honey, and baking mixes. https://www.atlasobscura.com/article...an-food-online

Here's a recipe on GO that I want to try: Russian Pastila. It's a marshmallow like confection that is made from apples. Since a I have about 35 apple trees going off right now, it looks like something that I need to check out.
