Looking for a Greek Cookie Recipe!
Last summer I went to a local Greek festival. We bought some cookies there, wish I could remember the very long Greek name for them! They were similar to a butterball, covered with powdered sugar, only flatter and much larger (like maybe 2"-3" diameter). They were absolutely delicious and melt-in-your-mouth fantastic.
Anybody know what they are called and (I hope) have a recipe?? I don't want to wait until next summer to eat another one LOL! Thank you!

There are the basic Greek Wedding Cookies, but I don't think they are usually quite that large.
This looked like a good recipe for them

Maybe they were something like these Kourabiedes:

yes, they are kourembedes I haven't made them in years. I love the ground walnuts in them, So nice and melt in your mouth yummy. Like most ethnic recipes, they are labor intensive in the original form. Today there are so
many ways to make them easily.

That's it! Kourabiedes! I knew I'd remember as soon as I saw the name. Usually we just go through the line and point at the ones we want.... LOL. Thank you ladies! The Food Network recipe actually looks do-able.

Of course everything is available on the internet! Do you have any local stores for Indian ingredients? Usually can find that and rose water there. Same if you have any middle-eastern ethnic stores.
You might try some place like a nutrition store that has botanical essences. Probably would have to dilute that a bit (as in a drop or two in a bottle of water!) and specify that needs to be food grade. The grocery store I shop at usually doesn't carry it but basic McCormicks has several essences including Orange. I'd imagine Watkins has an Orange too. Perhaps you have a store that specializes in products for bakers?
In the Seattle area with our mixed heritages and recent immigrants, things that can be difficult to get in some places are just down the street for me. Is a great place to be a foodie!
But as a substitute -- you could use something like Triple Sec or other flavored orange liquor. Just have a light hand, you don't want to overpower should be light and not strong.
