I baked this cake last evening for a cake walk. I like to put it in the freezer for a few days, this seems to lock in the moisture. I have had this recipe for years and it is one of the best cakes I have ever eaten and so easy to bake.

a step was left out of this recipe. The vanilla wafers are used in place of flour.
Here is the recipe I use.
Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
1 & 1/2 sticks butter, softened (I do not use margarine)
6 eggs
1 & 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
Mix well
Add:
1 cup chopped nuts
7oz. pkg coconut flakes
1 box vanilla wafers, place in blender and blend until powdery, like flour
Mix all the other ingredients well. Pour into a bundt or tube pan, bake for 1 & 1/2 hours.

She never said anythign about the milk but it makes since. But I made it the way I printed it and it was so sinful. I am wondering how it will would taste with the freeze dried apples, walnuts and dates in it. Also I like the idea of using a bunt pan, this also wasn't mentioned
