1956 Vintage Singer Commercial
It's an interesting video, which shows a zigzag attachment that fits a FW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgHQW38MWYE

I actually took sewing lessons one summer with my cousin at a Singer center. I made a dress with darts, it was a green tiny check fabric. I remember buying a sewing kit with scissors tape measure marking paper and marking wheel and a seam ripper. I loved that fabric. Don't know if I ever wore that dress lol. Thanks for the video.

Came on this morning to look for J Miller so I can send him a pm. then I watched this --glad I did. I have this attachment and believe I even used it once now I may try it again as I have more machines for it.
Didn't know it has the cam like pieces ---maybe the prelude to cams on machines.

That advertisement took me down memory lane. I took my first sewing class at our local Singer store in 1954. I don't remember what kind of sewing machine I used but it was the first electric machine I ever sewed on. The scariest part was actually making the first cut into the fabric. I still have a scrap of that fabric that I found in my mother's trunk. I do have a couple of the Singer Zig Zag attachments so it was interesting to see them used.
