66 fwd & rev.
hi all, just rescued a redeye 66 elect. with reverse ser # shows to be a jan.1923 release date, my question is when was the 1st fwd / rev 66, this is the oldest i have seen. decals in great shape, put thread in it and it sews great all for $12.50,, but no cab. but can fix that..

I was not aware the 66 red eyes were made with reverse. As far as I know the reverse / back tacking feature came along after the red eyes were discontinued. There was an after market retro fit kit for them made around WWII. This looks like a little plate with a lever that comes around it from the back side.
The 66s with reverse came along in the 40s "I think". Any chance of you posting a pic of your machine?
That was a good buy for it.

thks for reply, checked out the machine and it does have a lever going around to the end and goes into the head just above where the motor bracket bolts on,, it also has the small hand wheel like the later model machine,, good call on this with out seeing a pic. i am new too this fourm and have yet figured out how to post pic..
