99K, Finally arrived with my son
She is one much traveled girl with lots of road rash. Her serial number is EK442747, allotted 26 Apr 1954. The machine was given to my son by a friend. I have already replace the bent spool pin but there are more serious issues with the motor. The motor case is cracked on the back side with the pieces missing. And she has the longest electrical and foot controller cords I have ever seen come with a sewing machine, at least 8 feet long. The cord still has the English electrical plug on it so I am going to assume this machine has not been used in a very, very long time. Today, she is going to the OSMG spa for R&R. The case needs a lot of repairs also.

You need to check that machines papers. It could be an illegal alien. LOL. I don't see anything wrong with that machine that some oil and TLC wouldn't cure. Well, maybe a new motor and wiring assembly too.
And a visit to Sew-Classic. Wait .... I've heard that before somewhere

What a nice machine. I recently purchased a 99 that says 'Great Britain' on the top but it doesn't have the 99K under the centennial singer shield. So, I'm wondering what the difference is between the 99 and the 99K? Does anyone know? Mine does have the standard US plug in.

She went to the OSMG this morning. He says that it is an easy fix (for him I guess) and he has the parts. He always returns used parts with the machines I take to him.
