Hoping for Davis Treddle Machine HELP!
Hello all!
I recently acquired a Davis treddle sewing machine "Manhatten." I have been desperately trying to find information on shuttle (the bobbin holder thing under the machine, not sure if thats the right term!) and bobbin lengths/sizes to be able to get the machine running again. If there is anyone with needle information as well I would be forever in your debt.
Thanks for your time!

Welcome, it looks like you have a Davis underfeed. I don't know where you might find a shuttle and bobbins for your machine. Hopefully, Jon will be along and able to tell you about the needle needed for your machine. Are there any numbers cast in the bottom of your machine? Also is there any letters other than the "Manhattan" on the head? I think the serial number may be on the front slide plate or possibly under the front slide plate. Those would probably help, although Jon can sometimes just look at the picture and tell.

Hi,
Manhattan is a Davis model N which is a 3/4 sized machine. The needles are called Davis long, Boye 10, 1x2 depending on who makes them. The 3/4 sized shuttle and bobbin are somewhat scarce. The full sized Davis shuttle is common and much easier to find. The needles are just shy of 2". The 3/4 shuttle is also a bit under 2". The bobbin is 1-1/4" long. I'd check the online auction sites and ask around various chat groups for parts.
