How hard to get missing treadle cabinet parts?
I have a second treadle head (Singer 66 Red Eye) without a cabinet. I found this one on Craigslist. The treadle cabinet is missing the foot pedal. How hard would it be to get the missing parts and two, is it worth $60?

Gail,
That's a nice cabinet. I need one like that too for my 66-1.
Anyway, you'd need the pedal and the pitman arm to make it complete. They are out there, but not common. I returned a treadle base back to treadle last year and had to search all over the world for the parts. I got the big wheel, pedal, and other small bits from a member of another forum, the pitman arm came from Australia, and so forth.
I've since seen some parts on eBay. So you might have better luck than I did.
Wish that cabinet was here, or at least closer.
And I'd really try to talk them down about 20.00.

Around me (NYS) folks sell just the complete metal bases for $25-50, though some try to get $100 or more. So the parts are out there. Ebay has them being sole as Steampunk art pieces for rediculous prices. See if you can get the price reduced by gently pointing out the cost of the missing pieces.
