Need help with Featherweight timing.
I'm trying to time my featherweight and it looks like the distance between the needle and the hook is too big. Does anyone know what that distance should be? Or where I could look for the information.
Thanks,
Kookie

I found a place last nite. It is called Sew-Sales, Home of the Singer Featherweight. Has a ton of info. Hope it helps you. It's indexed in parts, I was on it for hours finding info. Barny PS. It says it was intended for trained engineers, but I could get part of it.ha. I'm back! when you google sew sales, you'll get the usual places to look. Click on the first one. The info you get is from Last name is Forsdyke. I can't remember his first name. Has a lady from the 20's or 30's picture on the page.

There is a mark on the needle bar. Take the faceplate off and look inside. The bar that attaches to the needle has a little ring around it. When it is just about to disappear into the little metal sleeve, the needle should be just by the bobbin hook.

Don't feel bad Barny names aren't always easy to remember. That use to be my strong point, not always so nowdays. I'm nowhere near your age. That last name is one I haven't seen or heard before and you remembered it. You are doing good.
Good luck timing your machine, Kookie.
