Need help to figure our brand of treadle machine
I just acquired a treadle machine and need to get attachments and manual to use it. I was told it was a White, but it does not look like any of the Whites I've seen on-line. I cannot find any serial number and the only identifying feature I can see is "MW" on the front.
Does anyone know what this machine is? !

Yep, a White badged as Wards. It is a vibrating shuttle machine. under the slide closest to the sewist you should find a bullet shaped shuttle with a bobbin in it. Friction drive, I believe.

Thanks Liz and Leon,
Mine looks very similar to yours, Leon. It has the same slide feature. Doh...as you can tell from my picture. I've ordered a generic book about treadle machines to get me started. I am a sewer on my modern machine, but on this one I have no idea how to thread it, how bobbin works, well...everything except how to run the treadle.
Do you know if my 2019 schmetz needles will work? Or do I need a special needle?

Welcome, Kim.
Nice looking machine. I'm sure I've seen one similar, maybe on QB, maybe somewhere else. I believe it is actually a National machine.
Unfortunately, the "Needlebar Picture Library" has gone AWOL so I can't peruse it to find one like your treadle. I think it may actually take what is called a 20x1 needle. I think what you are referring to when you ask "Do you know if my 2019 schmetz needles will work?" is what is seen at https://www.schmetzneedles.com/tag/15x1/ Technically, it originally would have taken a different system needle than what you are referring to. Fortunately, many have found that by not putting a 15x1 needle all the way up, one will still be able to sew with machines that called for a 20x1 needle.
Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
