Rocketeer closed lid double thread??

Thread spool source
The material is 3/16" birch dowel available at the box stores, Hobby Lobby and many local hardware stores. Cut it to length and slightly round the tips. It is a pressure fit and can be made out of 3/16" deldrin or nylon rod. Do not use metal rod because it could ruin the finish in the hole. Elsewhere in the post "Buck rogers Rocketeer" a picture of a homemade unit is posted. Hope this helps.

No I don't. My sister and I buy those 1200 yd. spools and they are real wiggly on all factory spool pins, metal or nylon. What I do is take a slightly undersize wood dowel and chuck in my wood lathe and after determining the factory pin size, I bore a slightly larger hole in the dowel. Basically it's a undersize/oversize operation allowing a little wiggle room for the spool to pin adapter. This keeps the spools from giggling all over the place.
