Welcome to the Board!
I am going to take a guess, that being that Russel was a department store or other shop of some kind and contracted with one of the major sewing machine manufacturing companies to have machines made and "badged" with its name to sell in its store(s). This is a guess but I have seen a number of machines with names that end up tied to a store and not a sewing machine manufacturing company. I would search for old stores or shops with the name Russel and see if you can find anything that way.
Here's an example of what I'm describing

If you post some pictures someone might be able to help you identify a company of origin.

Welcome to QB. It would be a badged machine. I did find Russell listed as an A. G. Mason badged name (<-link), but that doesn't mean that it actually is a Mason . There seems to be some controversary as to whether Mason actually made machines or just sold others' machines as his own. This page tells a little about Mason machines - https://vintagesewingmachinesblog.wo...e-mason-jones/ and this page has a manual for A. G. Mason machine - https://ismacs.net/a-g-mason-manufac...pany/home.html.
We would need a picture to see if maybe it is some other manufacturer.
We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf and on an ipad at Posting Pictures From an iPad
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. As shown at Standard Sewing Machine Co. Paragon
I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?
Another way to post pictures can be found at 2021/2022, 2.5” Birthday Swap
And how to use an ipad to post pictures can be found at Uploading photos and Posting Pictures From an iPad
Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.
Some additional notes -
The photos generally need to be reduced to less than 2MB in size. I have heard of people sending an email to themselves as it will ask if you want to reduce the size.
I have an android phone and when I tried to reply on Quilting Board while in mobile view None of the options for adding pictures was available. However, there is an option down at the bottom left of the page that is for Full Site when I tapped on "Full Site" It then looked like the way it looks on my lap top. So it would have the Red Reply and the Go Advanced options.
Do Not Preview post.

I forgot to mention that if your machine is a Mason, it will take a longer needle than modern machines use. While system 20x1 needles are no longer made, sometimes you can find them on the web. However, it is possible to drop a 15x1 aka 130/705 needle to work. A clever idea is to use a magnet (<-link) cut to make up the difference.

Probably because they are the wrong size. Even though it says (I think) that the limit is 5MB, it will only accept under 2MB. The other might be because of the type of file. I have seen bmp files, but I use jpg files. If they are smaller than 2MB in size and you still can't get them to upload, let me know. We can figure something out.
