Singer FW Light Bulb Removal Problem
Hi:
I just got my FW and started sewing on it this past weekend. On Sunday after about an hour, the bulb went out. After it cooled off, it went back on. Then last night, it went off after about an hour and never came back on. I would like to replace the bulb but I can't get it out. I have the manual and know that I am supposed to push the bulb in and turn towards the machine to remove it, but I can't get it out. My fingers don't fit under the metal housing and although I can touch the end of the bulb, it doesn't seem to want to move or turn at all. What should I do?

Press the blub into the socket at the same time turning it over towards the machine as far as it will go: them withdraw the bulb. To insert a new bulb press the bulb into the socket and turn it over from the machine until the bulb enters the notch in the socket. The bulb is difficult to get a hold of, I used a piece of rubber tubing to be able to get ahold of the bulb ,push and turn. I thought it was my bulb but turn out to be a connection. Check out David McCallum's website www.Featherweight221.com. It has a lot of info. Hope this will help some.

ETA: On his home page you will see a video, to click on, on the left hand side. At 4:25 in the video he explains how to change the light bulb. Here is the You Tube link to the same video:

I highly recommend both his book and the DVD.
