Softening electric cords
Greetings all,
I have seen several youtube videos on suggestions for products to soften old electric cords including wintergreen oil/alcohol and simple green. I'd like to rehydrate and soften some old sewing machine cords that are not cracked, and that will not harm them long-term. What have others found that work best? I would like something that will be able to be reapplied once in a while to maintain the softness. Thanks in advance!

I have used silicone from a spray can to try to keep rubber hoses and similar things soft, seems to help. You could try that on a piece, or I think something like Armor All might have a product that works like the silicone spray.
