is this all here?
is this all here?
Something else weird. That serial number places that machine at 1879. Singer didn't acquire the Wheeler and Wilson factory until 1906? I don't think the serial number is complete!

OUT. Of. CONTROL??? AHEM.... sigh... aren't we all??? But who else will rescue all those sewing machines before they hit a land fill???
I always bite my nails waiting to be sure that the shipping is ok. I hope that got there safely Nancy. They guy over at FedEx loves your address. He says, 'You're always shipping something there...." He is a hoot. He also remembered that my sister helped me pack one up.

I will let you know when the machine arrives Miriam! I am not worried about the condition!

I recently aquired a Pfaff 229. After searching for information on it, I have come up empty. There are a lot of 230's out there and they look the same on the outside, but no info on the 229. This machine was a challenge. Motor and cabinet wiring was shot, sparks were coming out of the dirty foor controller, upper shaft was siezed and the stitch width controll was siezed too. I have it running great now though. This is a brute of a machine that can stroll or sprint with precision. I was impressed with it when I was finished with it. Does anyone else have a 229?
Oh and Grant, what is the serial number of your 229?

To those who don't hoard fabric.......this won't make any sense. To those who do hoard...no explanation is necessary.
Stumbled across this stash at my favorite thrift store. Over 20 yards of batiks for less than $1.50 a yard. SCORE!
Sure would like to see what the donor kept, since this is the cull.
