SUZE, it is only 12 steps from the car to the door... LOL
I am so lucky to be the owner of the Singer 66 that grant15clone posted the restoration pics on. She is now back in her cabinet, and looks even better in person. And she sews like a dream. This is the machine that I learned to sew on, that my Mom made my first school dresses on, and much later, quilts for Grandbabys. When I saw the machine after Grant worked his magic, I was just blown away. I had wanted to get it in shape to sew on, and got back a machine that looks like new. Now I can understand why my Mom never wanted to trade it in. Thank you Grant!

I'm thinking if Bucky keeps that machine busy for 63 years it won't need much if she keeps it cleaned and oiled...

My aunt just purchased for me a machine that she thought was a FW. It isn't! It's a 99K serial # EL981277, can you tell me something/anything about this machine? I don't have it yet as she is in another state. She is having issues with threading as there was no manual with the purchase. She bought it for 75. at an estate auction with the case. She says they had it plugged in and it worked! Thanks for any help you can offer on the machine. .

Sandy you have either a 99k80 or 99k88, which was allotted December 18, 1956. Go to http://www.parts.singerco.com/IPsvcManuals/99K.pdf to print a manual. The 99's are great 3/4 sized machines, but they weigh a ton! You will have fun with that machine - it will last forever if kept clean and oiled. They have a nice stitch, a reverse, use common low shank feet, common 15x1 needles, and class 66 bobbins, which are available still today - and don't take up much room. The 99 is a very reliable machine.

I highly recommend the finger guards - my DGDs love that little feature

Greetings Folks, Had a great time up at Cathy's place on Saturday for our 1st "Play and Trade" day! We got to fiddle with lots of old machines.
Lots of horsetrading was in order, some machines, some parts, some services (machining), some cash.
In the end it seemed that everyone was happy.
I no longer own an Electric Singer Model 20.....
I have Needles for ALL of my older machines (THANK YOU THANK YOU)
I now own a Frister and Rossmann TS (so sweet, so smooth)
I now own most of a Wilcox and Gibbs...
Pic's to be posted over in "Photos"
I got a treadle base for my W&W #8 that is in process.
Unfortunately, I still have a Blue SewMor 202, a portable FR, and the Hamilton Ross TSM.... gotta find a home for them....
