Default $3 Swap Meet Find - OLD Treadle belt pliers

I had 2 $1 bills and he asked for 3.

I asked if he wanted to break a $100 for that $1.

He said sure... Well, all right then.

I got them home and got the rust off.. I'm good with $3...

It has a date on it of 1892!!! It seems you stole them Steve. Very well done. How come they look new?

Steve, you have a gift of patience for making things go clean and shiny!

How old are those pliers likely to be?

I love the breaking the $100 story. Quirky people are excellent.

Your pliers remind me, I have a pair of parallel pliers which are gucky and unsmooth. I feel inspired to try again to breather new life into them. What does the Steve Treatment entail. Trigh Flough?

I have 5 treadles, I think I have a need of one of them tools. Nice job getting it cleaned up too.

since the metal was high quality steel, I just wire-wheeled it clean. Then a once over with Brasso for the nooks and crannies.

Unfortunately, the patent date ONLY means that it could not have been made PRIOR to the newest date. They may have made this model with no other patents referenced for 40 more years for all I know.
