15 91 singer
The machine I just bought off ebay does not have a model number on it, the person that I bought it from said it was a 15 91 how can I tell if it is that model? Also it has on the top of the machine The singer company, made in Canada..
Do you think that is why there is no tag on the front that said 15 91? because it was made in Canada... Thanks

Yesterday while looking for a motorcycle dealer -it closed -but had Second Hand shop next door . I felt a pull to go in. Saw an old Singer (Made in Canada on top) in a wooden cabinet with 3 drawers on right side. Two sections to the top to cover the machine. Took down the serial # with 2 prefixes JC ........but then saw price tag of $195.
Told the sister working the store --NO WAY -not worth that. Showed her how to find date -said 1948 on pc but it had the gold emblem on front that said 1851-1951 so that can't be right. Never did find the model #
From the looks of your machine I think it is a 15 model but dirty /cabinet needs refinishing --Plus the bobbin assembly and bobbin are missing. No manual or extras. Gave her # to call Singer next week.
I believe I was sent there to help these ladies learn about machines. After an hour we got to buy some home pastry at half price --strawberry/rubarb pie. I don't need another machine as I did get my 99k with handcrank , and Singer kept me on phone for 1 hr to find out yr 1949.

Congratulations on finding your Singer!! She looks wonderful!
This looks exactly like my 15 so I am sure it is. You can look at Billy's (Lostin51) Thread and find alot of info there.

On my Singer there is a gold plate below the decal. That is the model number. I see you have one so don't you have numbers on that gold plate? It should give you the info you need to track it down. there are lots of sites with info on the old Singers
